iF Design Award

Touch Down Unit wins the iF Design Award, one of the most world-renowned design prize.

Touch Down Unit, design by Studio Klass, was selected as the winner in the Product category for the Office discipline. Touch Down Unit won over 78-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world. This year a total of 7,298 entries were submitted from 56 countries. 

Touch Down Unit by Studio Klass 

Touch Down Unit is a self-contained mobile workstation designed to meet the needs of people constantly on the go, and who are in the workplace to meet colleagues or clients, alternating between meeting rooms and private offices. TDU is highly portable, adapting itself to different layouts and spatial configurations. It has a range of usage modes for working seated on an armchair, chair or stool, or can be used standing. It acts as a service module, providing storage for personal items, and can be used to work on a laptop and charge devices. TDU is an ecological project manufactured according to the principles of sustainability.

Studio Klass, founded in 2009 by Marco Maturo and Alessio Roscini, deals with industrial design and is based in Milan. The work of Studio Klass prefers innovation from the functional point of view and product use, with particular attention to materials and formal language. The Studio operates in different sectors, from furniture to product design.

iF Design Award

Every year Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, the world’s oldest independent design body, organises the IF Design Award. For 67 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been recognized as an arbiter of quality for exceptional design. The iF label is synonymous worldwide with outstanding design services. Submissions are awarded by the following disciplines: Product Design, Packaging Design, Service Communication, Architecture and Interior Architecture as well as Professional Concept.
